G’day aspiring engineers,
I did do just one tutorial on the bare-bones-basics of using the 2D drafting workspace of Fusion 360 which you can see here:- https://youtu.be/2IKvsZQd99I
This video was published in 2021, about two years ago from the time of writing this. Its had a bit over 5,000 views in those two years, not exactly breaking the internet but there is clearly at least some interest in the topic.
I taught engineering drawing in the classroom for quite a few years, you do meet some people who love the topic but when you compare it to 3D modelling in a modern CAD program like Fusion 360 or similar, it really gets put in the shade when you can twirl that part around on the screen and look at it from any angle or even set a cutting plane and look inside the thing. A lot of people find technical drawings opaque, difficult to understand and the traditions and conventions surrounding them seem more than a bit “twee”.
Its one of those things you tend to neglect until you really need one.
